Thursday, January 12, 2023-- Venture into the Maze and take off with Mission Aerospace. Explore flight, navigation, and NASA in this extensive interactive exhibition integrating the science and history behind airplanes, helicopters, rockets, and other aircraft. Visitors will make paper airplanes and paper rockets, learning about aerodynamics, and test them for distance and air-dexterity in special “launch zones,” flying them to Beijing and Paris, or as far away as Saturn and Mars. Learn how gyroscopes are used in navigation and plot a course! Discover the connections between satellites and GPS. Find out about the power of air pressure in the wind tunnel.
Find aircrafts from many eras, from the Grumman F4F Wildcat to the Bell-Boeing CV-22 Osprey, and answer the challenge questions. Explore NASA’s vision for the future, from robotic exploration on Mars to trips aboard the International Space Station.
The Reading Public Museum is supported in part by grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and is located at 500 Museum Road, Reading, PA. Admission per day is: $10 adults (18-64), $6 children/seniors/college students (w/ID) and free to Members and children three years old and under.
