REAL BODIES
May 21 – September 18, 2022
This powerful exhibition explores life by displaying real, perfectly preserved human bodies and more than 200 anatomical specimens. More than a simple display of human specimens, REAL BODIES will connect audiences to a deeper sense of what it means to be alive. Founded on anatomical, cultural, and emotional narratives, the exhibition transforms the way we view the mysterious organism we all share - the human body - and reminds us of all the complexity and magic within us that we often take for granted. REAL BODIES digs deeper into the beauty of the body, mind, and soul than any other exhibition of its kind, and invites you to explore the entire human experience from the first breath to the last.
REAL BODIES has been recently updated to include the latest science-based information about COVID-19 in an effort to educate visitors on how SARS-CoV-2 impacts the major systems of human anatomy—from respiration to circulation. This new content was created by the Imagine Exhibitions team working alongside emergency medicine physicians and epidemiologists with experience in emerging infectious disease preparedness and response and includes 3-D printed virus models, a COVID-19 short film explaining in everyday language how the virus reacts to your body and how it can be spread, interesting facts about the virus and how it affects each of the different body systems, and social distancing floor decals that continue the education with additional facts on COVID-19. Designed specifically to help the public understand the complex and cascading effect the virus has on our health, this newly added content complements the extraordinary bodies exhibition and presents a multi-faceted—yet easily understood—picture of COVID-19 from an anatomical perspective.
