This engaging Art History Short Course will explore the ‘Great Museums of Europe’ in a four-part series led by RPM curator Scott Schweigert.
Take a journey through history and ‘tour’ some of the most outstanding collections on The Continent. The sojourn begins in Rome with a tour of the impressive Vatican Museums. Next stop is in Paris for a visit to the masterpieces at The Louvre! Next on the itinerary is an investigation of the treasures of The Prado in Madrid. The last stop on the tour is a visit to The National Gallery in London. While some of these iconic museums started as royal collections, others were formed to serve the public as educational resources. The course will investigate the history, collections, and impact of these popular cultural centers.

March 27 The National Gallery, London
