Summer camp. It conjures up images of sunburn, mosquito bites, giggling with friends, and endless rounds of our favorite childhood games.
My name is Megan, and I lead camp at the Reading Public Museum. Discovery Camp here is unlike any other summer camp. In my time at summer camp so far, I’ve gotten to create dinosaur footprints, examine extinct animals, create a mini-ecosystem, map out the solar system and learn all about the stars that we see in our sky every night. That’s not even mentioning the visits to the galleries in The Museum, and those are only a few of the activities we have done! We are always switching things up, and adding new and fun ideas to Camp to help keep it full of adventure. This year, we are having six differently-themed weeks, which means that we will be doing so many activities, who knows how we will fit them all in!
We never just talk here, we are almost always doing something, which means there is never a dull moment at Camp. Even when we are all relaxing and hanging out during free-time, we often are sharing new games with each other! It’s going to be a lot of fun, and we would love for you to join us.
What will you discover this year at Summer Camp at the Reading Public Museum?
