Modern Visions: A Century of Master Prints

Featuring over thirty iconic prints by modern masters, drawn entirely from the Reading Public Museum’s collection, this engaging exhibit includes works by some of the most influential artists of the past one hundred years. Lithographs, monotypes, screenprints, color woodcuts, and etchings by Wassily Kandinsky, Joan Miró, Henri Matisse, Rene Magritte, Andre Masson, Henry Moore, Raphael Soyer, Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Louise Nevelson, Jim Dine, Keith Haring, among others, are highlighted in this engaging show on view in The Museum’s Works on Paper Gallery. Some of the key movements of twentieth-century art will be explored including Expressionism, Surrealism, Social Realism, Abstraction, Pop and Op, and Photo Realism, and more. The show examines the diverse artistic voices and demonstrates how each printmaker pushed the boundaries of the medium in their own unique way.
