On Sunday, May 28 over 500 two-legged visitors, many with their four-legged companions, attended the fourth annual “Dogs & Brews” to kick off summer in the Arboretum of The Museum. RPM partnered with the Animal Rescue League of Berks County once again to create an even bigger and better event than last year, featuring 30 craft breweries, 20 local pet-friendly vendors, four food trucks, and live music by Dave “Dead Jimmy” Hartranft. Penske led a cadre of event sponsors, many who have supported the event since inception, and some new ones!
Participants received a commemorative tasting glass, a meal ticket to purchase lunch at any of the food trucks in attendance, and unlimited access to the local pet vendors and a craft beer tasting. Attendees also received a variety of prizes donated by local merchants, including beer mugs, growlers, and gift certificates for some of the participating breweries. For additional chances to win prizes, attendees were encouraged to participate in a supply drive to help the furry friends at the ARL and a truckload of towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, was contributed.
Event Chair Jessica Prutzman, who volunteers at The Museum and serves as the board president of the ARL said, “The turnout for our fourth event was so amazing and it shows how supportive the community is of these two great organizations. My dogs, Dakota and Molly, had such a great time meeting all the other dogs (and their humans) and we can’t wait for next Memorial Day weekend to be back here again!”
We hope to see everyone back Memorial Day Weekend 2018!
