Spring is in full bloom and with the warmer weather comes wedding season! To kick off wedding season at The Museum we hosted our 5th Annual Masterpiece Weddings Bridal Fair on April 23, sponsored by First National Bank. The Event Rental Department spends months planning this event, and this year, as the Event Rental Intern, I had the pleasure of being a part of the success. Among other jobs, I researched bridal fair supplies, helped to assemble and distribute hundreds of promotional materials, crafted “swag” for our swag bags, and designed eye-catching graphics for various aspects of The Fair. Excitement was high as the staff made sure everything was perfect for our happy couples and their guests.
It was a beautiful spring day by the Wyomissing Creek under the Stone Terrace Tent and the fantastic weather brought with it over 110 brides! The Tent was packed with over 35 of Berks County’s top wedding professionals sharing their talents with our brides and their families. During the fair, I was the “button lady” – greeting attendees with a smile and handing stickers to all brides and guests. They entered the Stone Terrace Tent, received their swag and started the party with The People’s DJ, Nick Talarico, who kept everyone upbeat and on schedule throughout the day.
Delicious hors d'oeuvres and desserts were presented by The Museum’s preferred caterers, and some were even generous enough to share with me — Yum! For those guests over 21, we offered a sparkling punch fountain and wine tasting at the Ridgewood Winery booth. Guests were offered tours of The Museum’s wedding venues, specifically the art galleries and the Neag Planetarium, gorgeously decorated by The Museum’s preferred décor company, LEO Design Gallery. Mid-day guests were wowed with a fashion show presented by Sweethearts Bridal & Formalwear. Models on the catwalk ranged from age 6 to 60 and displayed looks for flower girls, mothers-of-the-bride, and of course, the beautiful brides themselves! Hair and makeup was done by United Artists Salon & Spa and everyone looked amazing! Brides-to-be were offered free hair and makeup trials…filling the Tent with beauty in every corner.
As the grand finale, one lucky couple was chosen to win a free honeymoon for two, courtesy of CK Tours & Cruises! Many congratulations to the happy couple! What a fantastic day exploring all things wedding! Cheers to all of the happy couples who attended and to the amazing RPM staff and volunteers who made it all possible.
