The History and Science of Photography
September
4, 1999 through January 2, 2000
Freeze
Frame takes you on a journey through time
to explore the discovery and development
of photography including the processes and
products that capture images on light sensitive
materials.
Visitors
will learn how Leonardo da Vinci and Giovanni
Battista Porta were responsible for the
development of Camera Obscura. They will
also have an opportunity to visit a dark
room where they can experience -with actual
devices- the process for enlarging and developing
photographs. An activity table will allow
visitors to explore the components of a
camera including the lens and shutter. Enhancing
the visual aspect of the exhibit are images
on loan from the Berks Camera Club, with
whom Freeze Frame is a collaborative effort.
