Horsin' Around Family Day
Family Programming
  In conjunction with the Museum's exhibition Offspring of the Winds, Candace Perry, expert on equine art, will give a special talk. Other activities include pony rides, family guides, storytelling and refreshments. The Museum is open free to the public on this day. In con with the Greater Reading Convention and Visitors Bureau and The Berks Equine Council's jumper show, "Art of the Ride," held at the 4-H Showgrounds on Sunday, Aug. 10.

Greater Reading Chamber Event at The Planetarium
  The Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry hosts "Meet the Stars Under the Stars" at The Planetarium. Chamber members can join in a toast to tomorrow's leaders. The Rising Star award is presented to young professionals in recognition of their business accomplishments, community involvement and personal commitment to make Greater Reading better. Volunteer Reception

Born to be Wild Museum Bike Run
 

Join in a ride from the Pagoda (celebrating its one-hundreth anniversary) to the Museum to kick off the opening of the exhibition, Born to be Wild - Adventures in the Art of Motorcycle Design.

Check-in is at 9 a.m. at the Pagoda, and the ride starts at approximately 10 a.m., down Skyline Drive and through Reading. When arriving at the Museum, you'll enjoy exhibit tours, Pig Pit pulled pork, paint demos and more. $25 to pre-register, and includes commemorative pin, t-shirt and Museum admission. Jive After Five - Evening in Egypt
  Get all wrapped up in our new program! Be here for the unveiling of the official drink of Jive After Five, the Nefer-tini, prepared for us by Third and Spruce Cafe. Get chummy with the mummy in a gallery talk featuring the mysteries of Egypt and you might just find out how the drink got its name. Listen to live rock music by the Neo Trio while chatting with friends over tasty hors d'oeuvres. It will be a night you won't want to miss! Cash Bar. $15 for members/$25 for non-members. Bagels & Bach - The Cullen Haley Family
Performances Family Programming
 

Join us as this musically gifted family performs original jazz and classical numbers including works by Bach, Corelli and Marcello. The quintet consists of David Cullen, guitar; Jill Haley, oboe and English horn; and their three children, Risa Cullen, viola and piano; Graham Cullen, cello and Dana Cullen, French horn and piano.

The concert includes light breakfast and live music from 10 a.m. to noon in the Museum's Atrium.

Admission to "Bagels and Bach" is $15 for Members and $25 for Non-members, and includes admission to the Museum after the show. Reservations suggested, but not necessary (610-371-5850 x 264). Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Sponsored by Hair On The Avenue. Sunday, October 19.

Bagels & Bach - Beaucoup Blue
Performances Family Programming
 

Beaucoup Blue, the father and son duo of David and Adrian Mowry combine a soulful mix of traditional and contemporary style into an innovative and authentic sound. For this special occasion, the duo will be performing with acoustic jazz bassist Bill Zinno, a member of the Delaware Symphony.

Although Blues is a staple in their steeped-in-Americana repertoire, Beaucoup Blue's music is also influenced by their love of Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country, and Bluegrass.

The concert includes light breakfast and live music from 10 a.m. to noon in the Museum's Atrium.
